Coherent Networks Inc.’s FastGate Mobile data capture software, which incorporates the data-editing and manipulation features of its parent FastGate gateway product, is designed for use in Pocket PC handheld devices to accelerate collection and maintenance of network data for any GIS, CAD or other asset repository system. FastGate Mobile works with FastGate to improve data quality and to help gas and electric utilities speed implementation of new information-intensive systems.

The 9600 meter from Siemens Energy & Automation is a 3-phase power quality meter, Web server, analyzer and controller. It comes pre-configured to provide compliance reporting, 256 samples per cycle waveform recording, sag/swell analysis and more. With Web server technology, the 9600 can distribute reports and alarms over the Internet and through e-mail. The 9600 can be used as a Modbus Master for connection to downstream protective devices and to display breaker status or any device status.
PLC Power Meter

Continental Control Systems has released a power line carrier (PLC) version of its WattNode Plus digital power meter. The WattNode Plus measures true RMS power (kW), demand (average kW), energy (kWh) and individual phase voltage, current, power factor, reactive power and energy, and frequency. LonWorks PLC technology enables delivery of electric power consumption and power quality data over existing electric power wiring.

Schweitzer Engineering’s SEL-387A Relay is a current differential and overcurrent protection relay for two-winding transformers and other two-port electrical apparatus. The SEL-387A provides owners and operators of two-winding transformers with advanced monitoring, communications and protection functions. Protection elements include single- or dual-slope percentage differential characteristic, overcurrent protection for both sets of three-phase current inputs, and optional restricted earth fault function.

CRM Solution
SCT has released CRM Essentials, a customer relationship management solution designed for electric, gas, water and sewer utilities. CRM Essentials uses portal technology to facilitate SCT’s “Connect to Everything” (C2E) philosophy. C2E helps aggregate information from different sources for the user and permits many deployment and personalization options. CRM Essentials also features a series of business applications to manage contacts and to target communications.
Meter Configuration
ABB’s Metercat 1.1 is a meter configuration software package used to program and read ABB’s A3 ALPHA meter. Metercat 1.1 includes new meter communication tasks that simplify programming the meter. It also includes new load profile data options for exporting to MV-90 and ASCII text formats. Metercat runs on all existing 32-bit Windows platforms.
