Lockwood Greene awarded $40 million power project in New Jersey

ATLANTA, Ga., Jan. 20, 2002 — Lockwood Greene today announced that its construction arm, Jones LG, has been awarded a $40 million power project to provide engineering, procurement and construction services for an affiliate of Consolidated Edison Development.

The project to be known as Ocean Peaking Power, will be located in Lakewood Township, New Jersey.

The 330 MW Ocean Peaking Power Plant will be located adjacent to Consolidated Edison Development’s current Lakewood Cogeneration facility. The project is expected to be completed in December 2002. The plant will include two owner-supplied GE Frame 7FA gas turbine generator sets in a simple cycle configuration with options for a third unit.

Jones LG will provide the engineering, procurement and construction for the power islands including the installation of the gas turbine generators and ancillary equipment. Jones LG will also provide the specification, procurement and installation of the balance-of-plant equipment in addition to start-up coordination services. Each gas turbine generator set will be equipped with GE’s standard weatherproof and sound attenuating enclosure and free-standing 75-foot high exhaust stacks, including a horizontal silencer section that will be supplied by Jones LG.
