The loan is part of the economic development package that the state offered the Midwest ISO in November 1999 to locate in central Indiana. Under the terms of the 10-year loan, the Midwest ISO agreed to add 150 jobs paying an average annual salary of $75,000 and to invest more than $70 million in its high-tech infrastructure. Up to $500,000 of the loan would be forgivable if the Midwest ISO meets those development goals.
