Tehri Hydro Development Corp. Ltd. (THDC) plans to seek bids for a design review consultant and for turnkey construction of the 444-MW Vishnugad Pipalkoti hydroelectric project on the Alaknanda River.

Vishnugad Pipalkoti is to feature a 65-meter-tall gravity dam, 13.4-kilometer headrace tunnel, desilting chambers, an underground powerhouse containing four vertical Francis turbine-generators of 111 MW each, a transformer cavern, and 3-kilometer tailrace tunnel.
