India’s National Hydroelectric Power Corp. again extended the pre-qualification deadline for turnkey construction of the 1,000-MW Pakal Dul hydroelectric project on the Chenab River in Jammu &Kashmir State. The new deadline is July 31.
The project is to include planning, design, engineering, and construction of all civil structures, including a coffer dam, concrete-faced rockfill dam, headrace tunnel, pressure shaft, underground powerhouse, and a switchyard. The contract also is to include design, manufacturing, installation, and commissioning of four 250-MW Francis turbine-generators, as well as hydro-mechanical works including gates, trashracks, and steel pressure shaft liner.
The deadline to obtain pre-qualification documents also is extended, to July 28. They may be obtained from the address below for 40,000 rupees (US$1,000) by demand draft to National Hydroelectric Power Corp. Ltd. at Faridabad. The request is to be labeled “Request for Pre-qualification Invitation Document for Turnkey Execution for Pakal Dul (Drangdhuran) H.E. Project.”
The documents also may be obtained from the NHPC Internet site, www.nhpcindia.com, with the document fee to be submitted with the application for pre-qualification.
NHPC also changed the address for submission of applications for pre-qualification. They should be submitted by 5 p.m. July 31 to the address below.
