Czech developer again renews bidding to build 750-kW Velky Osek

Czech developer MVE Velky Osek s.r.o. renewed bidding again to build a powerhouse for the 750-kW Velky Osek hydropower project in the Czech Republic. Bids now are due March 26, 2010.

MVE Velky Osek previously called for bids by February 10, 2010; July 17, 2009; and November 14, 2008, for construction of a powerhouse and switchyard at the existing Velky Osek weir and lock. (HydroWorld 1/8/10) The structure eventually is to house three 250-kW Kaplan turbine-generators.

The developer maintained the estimated maximum cost of the project at 170 million koruny (US$9.37 million). It had previously increased the estimated cost of the work from 100 million koruny (US$5.16 million) and from 95 million koruny (US$4.8 million).

The work now is to be performed between May 2010 and August 2011.

Tender documents, in Czech, are available from the address below until 2 p.m. March 15. Bids, in Czech, are due by 2 p.m. March 26.
