Yichang’s small hydropower agency seeks bids to supply electro-mechanical equipment for five small hydroelectric projects in Wufeng and Changyang counties of China’s Hubei Province. Bids in two solicitations are due September 5.
Under the European Investment Bank’s China Climate Change Framework Loan, Hubei Yichang Small Hydropower Development Project Office awarded contracts worth US$52.8 million in 2011 to four Chinese groups to build 11 small hydroelectric projects in Hubei Province, including the five projects in Wufeng and Changyang. Yichang applied for 44 million euros (US$63.8 million) from China’s Finance Ministry to build the small hydro projects. China said in 2009 it would develop 10 small hydro projects in Hubei Province with EIB funding. (HydroWorld 4/15/11)
Now, on behalf of Yichang, China International Tendering Co. (ITC) seeks bids by September 5 to supply generating equipment to two projects in Wufeng County, Wangjiahe 1 and Wangjiahe 3 hydropower stations, Contract No. WJH-M&E-1. Hubei Rui Tian International Trading Co. Ltd. with joint venture of Wuhan Hao Kun Construction Engineering Co. Ltd. won civil works contracts for the projects in 2011.
ITC also seeks bids by September 5 to supply generating equipment to three projects in Changyang County, Erchakou, Xujiaping, and Changfeng hydropower stations, Contract No. ECK&XJP&CF-M&E-2. Hubei Provincial Minmetals International Trading Corp. Ltd. with joint venture of Hubei Chu Sunlight Water Conservancy and Hydropower Co. Ltd. won civil works contracts for those projects in 2011.
Work under both contracts is to be completed in 24 months.
