The government of Armenia invites expressions of interest from consultants to perform a feasibility study of the 70-MW Shnogh hydroelectric project. Responses are due February 1.
With a grant from the World Bank’s Global Environment Facility, the Armenia Renewable Resources and Energy Efficiency Fund seeks a bankable feasibility study of Shnogh. The project is expected to have a design head of 228 meters, discharge of 35 cubic meters per second, and average annual production of 270 gigawatt-hours.
The fund seeks a consultant to review all previous assignments and associated information on the project and to carry out site inspections. The project is to be defined and the feasibility study performed based on information collected, including environmental, social, and other safeguard aspects. It includes selection of the scheme, topographical surveys, engineering design, and cost estimates.
