Alstom India has won a trio of contracts to develop hydroelectric projects in India. The contracts have a combined value of around US$58 million.
The first contract has been signed with Shiga Energy Pvt Ltd for the 97-MW Tashiding hydroelectric project based in West Sikkim district on the Rathang Chu River.
The second contract has been signed with NSL Tidong Power Generation Pvt Ltd for the Tidong 1 hydroelectric project in Kinnaur District in the State of Himachal Pradesh, consisting of two 50-MW units. The third contract has been signed with Haridwar Infrastructure Private Ltd for the Dikchu hydroelectric project on the river Dikchu, a tributary of Teesta River in East Sikkim, for a 96-MW hydro plant.
The contract for the Tashiding project includes the design, manufacture, supply, installation, testing and commissioning of the entire electro mechanical package including the turbines, generator, 220 kV outdoor switchyard, general step-up transformers, balance of plant and auxiliaries. The contracts for the Tidong 1 project and Dikchu project includes the design, manufacture, supply, testing and commissioning of the turbines, generators and auxiliaries for both projects.
All equipment will be manufactured at Alstom’s Vadodara facility in Gujarat, one of the company’s largest hydro equipment manufacturing hubs worldwide.
In other news, Electricite de France has awarded Alstom Hydro a contract for rehabilitation of four pump-turbines at the 800-MW Revin pumped-storage hydroelectric project in France.
The contract involves work on four 180-MW pump-turbines, including replacement of runners and refurbishment of servo-motors and other components.
