Moxie Freedom 1,028 MW gas project due for operation in late 2017

Moxie Freedom filed with the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission a notice of self-certification of exempt wholesale generator status based on its development, ownership and operation of a nearly 1,028 MW natural gas-fired, combined-cycle project located in Salem Township, Luzerne County, Pennsylvania.

The facility will be interconnected with transmission facilities owned and controlled by PPL Electric Utilities Corp. within the PJM Interconnection region. It is presently expected to begin sales of test energy in the fourth quarter of 2017 and commence commercial operations in the second quarter of 2018.

Moxie Freedom is a unit of Moxie Energy, which is engaged, directly and through its units, in the development, ownership, and operation clean energy infrastructure projects, as well as providing consulting services to the energy industry. Moxie Energy owns 95 percent of Moxie Freedom, and no other person or entity itself (directly or indirectly) owns, holds or controls 5 percent or more of the interests in the applicant.
