Essel Shyam wins US$3 million contract for meteorology management system

CHANDIGARH, India 1/10/12 (PennWell) — Essel Shyam Technologies Ltd. has won a bid to supply a hydro-meteorology system for management of Bhakra Beas Management Board’s (BBMB) reservoirs in India.

The contract, worth 162.1 million rupees (US$3 million), was first offered in January 2011 and is being funded by the World Bank’s International Bank for Reconstruction and Development. Essel Shyam Technologies is responsible for the supply, installation and commissioning of the system

The real-time decision support system will be integrated into support systems located in the Sutlej and Beas basins. The contract period is 12 months.
