On May 19, Hydro Review will be hosting a webcast that provides attendees a workshop-style approach to the topic of design and engineering of booms and structures in the forebay of dams.
Structures,
like booms, in the forebay of dams are used to guide or exclude debris, provide
public or dam safety, and, in some cases, address fish passage, water
temperature or water quality concerns.
This workshop will help dam owners and operators understand the key components
of the design and engineering of booms and structures that will lead to:
- Reduced operation and maintenance costs
- Increased efficiency
- Extended service life
- Reduced procurement, installation and construction costs
- Better understanding of the engineering, design, location and anchoring factors involved
