The Corps of Engineers has extended the due date for bids to build a passive integrated transponder tag detection system for juvenile fish, relocate a bypass flume, and modify dewatering structures, all at 810-MW Little Goose Dam. The new due deadline is Sept. 10.
Proposals originally were due Sept. 4. (HNN 8/7/08) The Corps’ Walla Walla District previously solicited firms capable of doing the work. (HNN 5/14/08)
The Corps estimates the cost of the work will range from $1 million to $5 million. Construction at the dam, on the lower Snake River in Dayton, Wash., is scheduled to begin Nov. 15 and to be completed by April 15, 2009.
PIT tag technology can be used with a radio frequency identification antenna to monitor fish movement.
The solicitation may be obtained from the Federal Business Opportunities Internet site, www.fbo.gov, by entering the number W912EF08B0009 in the Quick Search box.
