Ukrhydroenergo provided an update on the status of its hydroelectric plants in Ukraine, saying it continues to work actively for the country’s energy security and independence, covering peak loads and mobile emergency reserve in Ukraine’s Unified Energy System.
The General Director of Ukrhydroenergo Igor Syrota held a meeting recently with branches and management of the company.
The company’s hydroelectric power plants work according to the schedule and according to the teams of dispatchers, Ukrhydroenergy said. Operating personnel are at work, despite the ongoing military conflict with Russia.
According to a release, the company is carrying out scheduled repairs of hydraulic units at its stations, as well as work on the reconstruction of equipment aimed at extending the service life of hydraulic facilities, increasing the installed capacity of hydroelectric plants and pumped storage projects, and improving the quality of electricity produced.
In addition, the company reported that Ukrainian hydropower workers are actively supporting the country’s army. The management of Ukrhydroenergo responded to the request of the military to purchase electrical equipment for the needs of the Ukrainian army.
“General Director of Ukrhydroenergo Igor Sirota instructed to consider the purchase of 10 generators for the military. We found these devices, paid their cost, and on April 18, representatives of the Kremenchug hydroelectric power plant handed over the generators to our military, “said Serhiy Yaremenko, director of the 686 MW Kremenchug hydroelectric power plant.
Ukrhydroenergo has total installed hydroelectric generating capacity of 6,208.3 MW from 104 hydraulic units.
