Deadlines for National Hydroelectric Power Corp. (NHPC) projects have begun stretching into October as the India developer again delayed pre-qualification deadlines for three projects.
1,000-MW Pakal Dul
September 29 at 3 p.m. is the new pre-qualification deadline for turnkey construction of the 1,000-MW Pakal Dul project. Pre-qualification documents were available until September 26 for 40,000 rupees (US$1,000).
Pakal Dul, on the Chenab River in Jammu &Kashmir State, is to include all civil structures, four 250-MW Francis turbine-generators, and hydro-mechanical works. (HNN 9/25/06)
The documents also were available from the NHPC Internet site, www.nhpcindia.com, with the document fee to be submitted with the application for pre-qualification.

320-MW Kotlibhel 1B
October 5 at 2 p.m. is the latest pre-qualification deadline for civil works construction of the 320-MW Kotlibhel 1B project, to be built in India’s Uttaranchal State. Pre-qualification documents now may be obtained until October 4. The pre-qualification document fee is 20,000 rupees or US$500.
530-MW Kotlibhel 2
October 10 at 2 p.m. is the latest pre-qualification deadline for civil works construction of the 530-MW Kotlibhel 2 project, also to be built in India’s Uttaranchal State. Pre-qualification documents now may be obtained until October 9. The pre-qualification document fee is 40,000 rupees or US$1,000. (HNN 9/15/06)
NHPC did not immediately extend the pre-qualification deadline for the third Kotlibhel project, 195-MW Kotlibhel 1A, whose due date passed September 22.
Pre-qualification documents for Kotlibhel 1B and Kotlibhel 2 may be obtained from NHPC’s Internet site, www.nhpcindia.com, with notification to the address below and submission of the document fee with the pre-qualification application. Fees are payable by demand draft to National Hydroelectric Power Corp. Ltd. at Faridabad.
