India developer Satluj Jal Vidyut Nigam Ltd. (SJVN) has extended the deadline for bids from consultants to perform a feasibility study and detailed project report for the 486-MW Kholongchu hydroelectric project on Bhutan’s Kholongchu River. Bids now are due June 8, 2009.

Kholongchu (or Kholongchhu) is a run-of-river project proposed for Trashi Yangtse District, 210 kilometers from Samdrupjonkar, a town on the India border. (HydroWorld 2/26/08)
The feasibility study and detailed project report are to include investigation works such as a topographical survey, construction material survey, rock mechanics tests, drilling, and drifting.
Request for proposal documents may be obtained from the Internet site www.tenderwizard.com/SJVNL. A document fee of 20,000 rupees or US$500 is required in the form of a crossed bank draft or banker’s check drawn on any nationalized/scheduled India bank to Satluj Jal Vidyut Nigam Ltd., payable at Shimla.
Bids are due by 1 p.m. June 8. Technical proposals must be physically delivered to the address below. Financial bids must be delivered through the electronic tendering system by completing standard forms in the RFP documents and uploading them on www.tenderwizard.com/SJVNL. Bidders must register on the website.
