U.S. seeks protective relay upgrades at 132.3-MW Gavins Point

The Corps of Engineers seeks bids to modernize generator and transformer protective relay systems at 132.3-MW Gavins Point Dam in Nebraska and South Dakota. Bids are due Sept. 11, 2009.

Work is to include design, materials, and fabrication of complete protective relay systems for three hydroelectric generators and GSU transformers at Gavins Point Dam on the Missouri River near Yankton. Advertised as a total small business set-aside, the work is to be completed in 360 days from the award.

The invitation for bids may be obtained from the Federal Business Opportunities Internet site, www.fbo.gov, by entering Solicitation No. W9128F09T0076 in the “Keyword/Solicitation #” box. Prospective bidders must register at the Central Contractor Registration database, www.ccr.gov, and the On-line Representations and Certification system, http://orca.bpn.gov.
