Technicians of plant operator JSC Regional Power Generation Co. of Dagestan (Dagenergo) and of Energostroy Ltd. have completed replacing 12 sections of bearings in generator Unit 4 of the 1,000-MW Chirkey hydroelectric plant.
JSC Energozapchast manufactured and supplied the new components for 319,426 rubles (US$12,000). Work was carried out under a framework maintenance program of Dagenergo.
Bearing sections already have been replaced on three other generators at Chirkey on the Sulak River in Russia’s Dagestan Republic.
