Romania awards unit rehab contract for 38-MW Arcesti

Romanian utility Hidroelectrica SA has awarded a contract for rehabilitation of a generating unit of the 38-MW Arcesti hydroelectric project.

Hidroelectrica awarded a 9.58 million lei (US$3.94 million) contract to S.C. UCM Resita SA of Romania for modernization of turbine-generator Unit No. 1 of Arcesti. (HNN 10/22/07) S.C. UCM Resita was the sole bidder for the contract, valued at 9.59 million lei (US$4.06 million).

Arcesti went on line in 1980 on the Olt River.
