NWHA taps committee and board members

At its recent annual conference, the Northwest Hydroelectric Association elected its executive committee and board members for 2022-2023 and named the recipient of the Pamela E. Klatt Award.

Directors elected to the executive committee are:

  • President Alene Underwood, Chelan County PUD
  • Vice President Dave Zayas, Idaho Power
  • Treasurer Mark Jones, HDR Inc.
  • Secretary Finlay Anderson, Kleinschmidt Associates

Also serving on the executive team are the Past President, Mary Gail Sullivan with Northwestern Energy, as well as NWHA’s General Counsel and Executive Director.

NWHA also reports that members elected two new directors to the board and re-elected four members to serve a second three-year term. They are:

  • Washington Director Chris Townsend, Seattle City Light
  • Vendor Director Paul Meeks, Worthington Products
  • Canadian Director Catrin Bryan, McMillen Jacobs Associates
  • California Director Nathan Rockwood, Mead & Hunt
  • Oregon Director Mark Jones, HDR Inc.
  • Washington Director Heidi Wahto, Stantec

During the recent board meeting, the board also appointed Andrea Wortzel with Troutman Pepper to serve a three-year term as NWHA’s General Counsel.

In addition, Speed Fitzhugh was selected as this year’s recipient of the Pamela E. Klatt award. Fitzhugh was recognized for his 30-year career in the industry, advancing hydropower through unique collaborations and building meaningful relationships.
