Keitel named president and CEO of Voith Hydro

Dr. Tobias Keitel will be appointed president and chief executive officer of Voith Hydro and a member of the Corporate Board of Management of the Voith Group effective Nov. 1, 2022. He succeeds Uwe Wehnhardt, who will continue to be available to the company as senior advisor.

Dr. Keitel has worked, among others, for The Boston Consulting Group and MAN AG. In 2011, he joined Voith Hydro as a project manager. Dr. Keitel has since held various management positions and was appointed member of the management board of Voith Hydro in 2016. On the board, he was last responsible for the areas of project execution, as well as service and sales.

Dr. Keitel has a master of business administration (MBA) from the École Supérieure de Commerce in Paris and studied industrial engineering, with a subsequent doctorate from the Technical University of Berlin.

We wish him continued success in his new role,” said Prof. Siegfried Russwurm, chairman of the Voith Shareholders’ Committee and Supervisory Board. “At the same time, we are pleased that with Tobias Keitel we are able to appoint an internal successor to the Corporate Board of Management, who knows the hydropower business very well”.

Michael Rendsburg will succeed Dr. Keitel as chief operating officer at Voith Hydro. Since joining the Voith Group in 2014, he has held various management positions at Voith Paper. After completing his degree in mechatronics at the University of Stuttgart and at the Massey University in New Zealand, Rendsburg held various positions in research and development, supply chain management and manufacturing in the automotive industry and worked for an international strategy consultancy.
