India state again reopens tender for independent power

India’s Madhya Pradesh State again invites independent power producers to pre-qualify to build projects of any technology, including hydropower, to sell electricity to state-owned M.P. Power Trading Co. Ltd. Proposals now are due February 5.

M.P. Power, successor to Madhya Pradesh State Electricity Board, invites applications for pre-qualification offering a minimum 20 MW and a maximum 2,000 MW. (HNN 6/20/06) Contracts would be for 15, 25, or 35 years, based on generating technology. Plants now may be located outside Madhya Pradesh.

Bid documents may be obtained until January 20 from the address below for 100,000 rupees (US$2,250) by demand draft to M.P. Power Trading Co. at Jabalpur. Bids are due February 5. Previous bidders need not resubmit.

Short-listed bidders are to be issued additional bid documents by February 12.
