MUMBAI, India 11/18/11 (PennWell) — India developer Reliance Power invites applications for pre-qualification to build the 700-MW Tato 2 hydroelectric project on the Siyom River in India’s Arunachal Pradesh State. Responses are due December 26.
Reliance is developing Tato 2 on a build-own-operate-transfer basis through a special purpose company, Tato Hydro Power Private Ltd. SNC-Lavalin Engineering India Pvt. Ltd. is serving as owner’s consultant. Tato 2, featuring four 175-MW turbine-generators, is to be built in West Siang District of Arunachal Pradesh.
The developer is pre-qualifying firms to build Tato 2 under two engineering-procurement-construction contracts:
— THPPL/Package 1: Civil works including infrastructure works, diversion, dam, intake, hydro-mechanical works, and other appurtenant works; and
— THPPL/Package 2: Civil works including infrastructure works, headrace tunnel, surge shaft penstock, powerhouse complex, tailrace tunnel, and hydro-mechanical works.
Each construction package is to require 52 months to complete.
