Gregory named chairman of GEI’s board of directors

Gillian M. Gregory, PhD, is the new chairman of GEI Consultants Inc.’s Board of Directors.

She replaces Naser J. Bateni, P.E., senior vice president. Gregory is the first woman the company has appointed to the chair position.

Gregory was first elected to the board in 2013. She began with the company in 1986.

Gregory is a geotechnical engineer specializing in dam safety investigations and dam engineering. Her experience conducting dam safety inspections has mostly involved those that impound water for hydroelectric projects. She has been invited to participate on a committee assisting the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission in the development of new engineering guidelines incorporating risk-informed decision making.

She works out of the Boston office.

In addition to this appointment, four other board positions were filled by Mike Cornelius (re-elected), Bill Walton (re-elected), Chris Dailey (first time serving) and Steve Verigin (first time serving).
