German utility EnBW seeks hydraulic steel work and construction to expand the 105-MW Iffezheim hydroelectric project on the Rhine River.
Bids for steel work are due March 30, while applications for pre-qualification for engineering and construction work are due April 5.
Iffezheim has four turbine-generators operating with flows of 275 cms each and a head of 10 meters. EnBW and its operating unit, Rheinkraftwerk Iffezheim GmbH, plan to expand the project to accommodate a fifth generating unit.
The solicitation for steel work includes three lots comprising an intake rake, a gantry crane, and a powerhouse drainage system and fire extinguishing system, and related equipment. Work is to be carried out from January 2008 to July 2010. Bids, in German, are due March 30.
EnBW invites applications for pre-qualification for engineering and construction work involving foundation engineering, excavation, reconstruction of a road bridge, adjustment of turbine intakes, integration with an existing fish ladder, and other work. Responses, in German, are due April 5. EnBW plans to issue a tender solicitation to selected companies May 4.
