Kennett Square, PA, January 9, 2002 – Enerwise Global Technologies today acquired Datapult, LLC, from American Electric Power Company, Inc.
Terms of the combined cash and stock transaction were not released. By acquiring Datapult, an EEM player with a substantial customer base, Enerwise expands its product offerings, increases its own national and international customer base, and grows its channel partner network.
Datapult’s offerings complement and extend the Enerwise portfolio and enable Enerwise to provide additional products and services to a broader set of commercial and industrial (C&I) customers. The expanded Enerwise product portfolio includes web-based applications that are used to collect and analyze energy usage information, monitor power quality, engage in load management, conduct rate modeling and tariff comparisons, and dispatch distributed generation capabilities.
In addition, Enerwise can now provide utility bill allocation and payment services. As a result of this acquisition, Enerwise’s extensive client service capabilities and certified energy analysts enhance its ability to use cutting-edge technology to deliver bottom-line results for customers.
“With the addition of Datapult’s products and services to Enerwise’s own extensive portfolio, Enerwise now offers C&I customers the most comprehensive suite of enterprise energy management capabilities available from a single source,” said Dominic Geraghty, senior vice president of corporate development for Enerwise Global Technologies.
This expanded product suite strengthens Enerwise’s ability to assist commercial and industrial companies in reducing energy costs and increasing reliability. In addition, Datapult’s data mining applications will enhance Enerwise’s ability to deliver accurate energy information to C&I customers in ways that are meaningful to the end user. Enerwise will continue to support former Datapult applications including a utility allocation service that enables multi-tenant facilities to allocate the appropriate utility expenses to individual tenants.
“The acquisition of Datapult significantly increases Enerwise’s served customer base. It enables Enerwise to increase its national and international market share by offering products and services through Datapult’s channel partner network which includes utility/energy service providers and hardware providers,” said Geraghty. “In addition, Enerwise is positioned to build upon Datapult’s success in serving the energy management needs of national retail chains, commercial property owners and REITs.”
Enerwise Global Technologies enables commercial and industrial enterprises to reduce cost and maximize efficiency. Enerwise provides the products and services needed to gain a thorough understanding of energy data and the ability to utilize that information to develop and implement complete energy management strategies that benefit C&I customers and utilities.
