Dr. Muench resigning from Voith Digital Ventures

Dr. Roland Muench, chief executive officer of Voith Digital Ventures and member of the corporate board of management, will resign from his position on November 1, 2019, “at his own request and turn to new professional challenges outside the company,” Voith said.

Matthias Lindemann, chief financial officer at Digital Ventures, will assume the position of CEO on an interim basis until a final succession plan has been agreed for the unit.

Dr. Muench joined the management board of Voith Paper Holding in 2002, where he was responsible for the paper technology divisions of Jagenberg AG acquired by Voith. Later that year, he took over as head of the Voith Paper Automation Division. In 2006, he was appointed to the corporate board of management. In 2008, Dr. Muench became head of the Group Division Voith Hydro. Effective Jan. 1, 2016, he took over the management of the newly created Voith Digital Ventures unit.

“Over the past seventeen years, Dr. Roland Muench has played a key role in shaping Voith’s development. We owe him our thanks and recognition for this,” said Prof. Dr. Siegfried Russwurm, chairman of the shareholders’ committee and supervisory board of Voith GmbH & Co. KGaA.

Dr. Muench has a degree in electrical engineering from the University of Fridericiana and a doctorate from RWTH Aachen University.

Before joining Voith, he worked for the ABB Group, starting as a development engineer for control systems and ending as CEO and country manager for ABB Malaysia.

The Voith Group is a global technology company with a broad portfolio of systems, products, services and digital applications for the energy, oil and gas, paper, raw materials and transport and automotive markets.
