Determine Project Feasiblity with Biopower Toolkit

A major obstacle for utility companies changing from traditional fuels to renewable biofuels is lack of information about availability, feasibility and economic consequences. A new tool from the Community Policy Analysis Center (CPAC) at the University of Missouri-Columbia and the National Rural Electric Cooperative Association (NRECA) now provides answers: The Biopower Toolkit, a calculator that determines project cost, availability and feasibility. The software uses data on fuel characteristics, fuel location, transportation costs, capital costs and plant location to find an optimal fuel mix based on technology requirements and cost, and then it predicts expected revenue.

To use the Biopower Toolkit or order a CD version of the software, visit the CPAC website linked below.
