Bill Coverage Insurance Now Available to Utility Customers
Dayton Power & Light (DP&L) customers can now buy insurance to cover their electric and gas bills if they lose their job or become disabled. Liberty Life Insurance will be underwriting the coverage that offered something that DP&L and Liberty were both looking for. Liberty was looking for a new pool of customers and DP&L, in response to a more competitive marketplace, was looking for more products and services for its customers. The insurance will cover a customer`s bills of up to $500 per month due to unemployment, disability, hospitalization or death. Premiums cost about $6 per $100 of utility charges and are based on a 12 month average of the customer`s bills.
