March 7, 2003 [SolarAccess.com] Egyptian scientists at Helwan University in Cairo and the United Arab Emirates University in Al-Ain are testing the oil from the nut of the jojoba desert shrub as an alternative to diesel fuel in engines. The oil, normally used in the cosmetics industry, produces fewer pollutants then diesel fuel when combusted, the researchers said.
