Colorado Springs Utilities hires Serco for fleet management

Serco Inc. won a new contract to deliver fleet management and maintenance services to the city of Colorado Springs and Colorado Springs Utilities. The contract has a five year base period valued at $35 million.

Serco will service more than 3,500 city and utility vehicles and equipment, including all police and some fire vehicles.

The company will perform preventative maintenance and inspections, corrective repairs, accident repairs, inventory procurement and warehousing, and quality control services.

Work under the contract starts January 1, 2014 at eight city- and utility-owned facilities around the city of Colorado Springs.
