Under the terms of the contract, Allegheny has committed to sell up to 1,000 megawatts (MW) of competitively priced electricity (enough to supply 1 million homes) from supply contracts it has secured from generating plants in the Western Systems Coordinating Council Region through its energy marketing, trading, and risk management subsidiary, Allegheny Energy Global Markets (formerly the Merrill Lynch Global Energy Markets business). Deliveries will begin immediately, with contract volumes increasing from 150 MW to 1,000 MW over the life of the contract.
HOUSTON, March 22, 2001 – Dynegy Inc. will issue a notification to the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) that it will provide information supporting Dynegy’s position that its prices offered for power during January and February were just and reasonable.
