Here’s what to expect at GridTECH Connect Forum

Happy hour at the interconnection event GridTECH Connect Forum last year.

Do you care about grid interconnection in New England? If you do, and you don’t mind spending a few days in a quaint coastal town in autumn, read on.

New England has set ambitious clean energy goals and most states in the region are well on their way to weaning off fossil fuels, but significant obstacles remain along the path toward 100% renewable energy. The intermittent nature of wind and solar generation, lack of land for large-scale utility projects, and increasingly harsh weather pose challenges that must be overcome while New England simultaneously modernizes its grid to account for more distributed energy resources.

The interconnection event GridTECH Connect Forum will assemble hundreds of key stakeholders in the northeast to collaborate on solutions ensuring a reliable and equitable clean energy future October 28-30 in Newport, Rhode Island. Project developers, utilities, regulators, and policymakers each count interconnection among their most pressing problems, and GTC provides an opportunity to break out of silos and have impactful, direct conversations that move the needle and improve the process of getting more clean energy on the grid.

Attendees learn about challenges facing interconnection in New England at GridTECH Connect Forum – Northeast 2023.

As you may recall, this event was held at the same location last year in its first standalone iteration.

“The door is open. We can’t do this alone anymore,” chief operating officer of National Grid New England Nicola Medalova told the audience in her keynote speech. “We need you all and we want your ideas.”

That door is still open, and Medalova will be back to speak at GridTECH this year too! Here’s what you can expect at the end of the month in Rhode Island:
