ABB E-mobility said it will offer new AC and DC charging equipment in North America, including the Terra 360; Terra AC Wallbox 40/80A; and HVC360 power cabinet.
The Terra 360 is designed to provide up to 360 kW of power for a full charge in less than 15 minutes. It is equipped with CCS-1 in a dual-outlet configuration which can charge two vehicles simultaneously. The device can also serve commercial fleet needs where an all-in-one footprint and power-sharing options are required.
The HVC360 power cabinet can charge up to four buses or trucks at the same time, and allows charging dispensers to be set as far as 328 feet from the power cabinet itself. Dynamic charging capability allows the charger to allocate differing levels of power to each charging dispenser based on the number of vehicles plugged in or their charging requirements.
The Terra AC Wallbox 40/80A can to provide from 9.6 to 19.2 kW of output power and is marketed toward light- and medium- duty commercial vehicle fleets which have larger batteries. The AC charger has a J1772 Type 1 connector, and CTEP certification for the screen display version supporting revenue-grade metering. The charger also offers multiple internet connectivity and authentication options, including OCPP 1.6J, and has dedicated apps to manage charging sessions and usage.
ABB E-mobility delivered its first DC fast charger a decade ago in the U.S., and offered one of the first public CCS1 chargers in 2013, one of the first 150 kW charging systems in 2017, and one of the first 350 kW charging systems opened to the public in 2018. It recently announced the start of U.S. manufacturing for its NEVI-enabled Terra 184 and Terra DC Wallbox products.
