Wisconsin Utility Offers Green Power

February 10, 2003 [SolarAccess.com] Tempering the bad news of the first electric rate hikes in 17 years, the Wisconsin Public Service Corporation unveiled a new “Green Rate” offering for those customers who want to sign up for the NatureWise program to receive electricity from Renewable Energy sources like wind or solar power at a premium cost. The program lets customers choose the option of paying US$2.65 per month in addition to their regular rates for each 100 kW block of Renewable Energy received. The Glenmore Wind Energy Facility supplies a portion of the electricity for the NatureWise program. Biomass energy will be generated from Wholesome Dairy and landfills in Brown County and Whitelaw.
