Wind Farm to Scotland

2002-03-08 [] Scottish and Southern Energy (SSE) plans to build a 13 MW wind farm on the Mull of Kintyre. The £7 million facility at Tangy, near Camp-beltown, which will include 15 turbines, is expected to be completed by the end of the year. SSE plans to invest (pounds) £200m in Renewable Energy by 2006, when it plans to have an additional 220 MW of new facilities. The company is also spending £250m on refurbishing its existing hydro-electric power stations in Scotland. SSE has signed a contract with Vestas-Celtic Wind Technology, based in Campbeltown, to build the wind farm.
