Vast Reserves Claimed For Biomass to Bio-oil

DynaMotive Energy Systems Corp says it must establish the potential for bio-oil this year.

VANCOUVER, British Columbia, CA, 2002-01-23 [] The Canadian company “must establish our Bio Oil reserve base, demonstrate to industry and government the benefits of our technology as an enabling tool and, in doing so, establish the same investment benefits that are afforded to traditional oil,” explains CEO Andrew Kingston. “Canada produces over 18 million tonnes of forest residue per year; every year, the forest industry pays millions of dollars in disposal costs and in acquiring energy for its operations,” he adds. “To this number, we can add the vast agricultural residues that Canada also produces. This adds up to what could become vast, proven and sustainable reserves of Bio Oil, turning a cost into an opportunity, reducing reliance on fossil fuels, enhancing the energy mix and creating a sustainable energy future.” Kingston says DynaMotive is recognized as a credible force in the biomass-to-bio oil technology after demonstrating its capabilities abroad, and has established a permanent presence in Europe at its London office, in the United States with offices in Los Angeles and Miami, and in Brazil, where it has partnerships with Intracom and Cosan Bon Jesus. It has attracted interest in Australia, India, South Africa and China, he says, as well as countries with a strong agricultural base and reliance on fossil fuel imports.
