UK Renewable Energy Partnership

[] Power company Novera Energy and Macquarie Bank have formed NoveraMacquarie Renewable Energy Limited (NMRE) as a joint venture to acquire the landfill gas and hydroelectric sites currently owned by United Utilities Green Energy in the United Kingdom. These projects will supplement the wind farm and landfill gas facilities already owned by Novera. These projects will give NMRE an installed power generation capacity of 107 MW. The NMRE is an equal partnership venture, and, with the acquisition of United, has one of the largest diversified renewable energy portfolios in the United Kingdom. Each business invested GBP 16.3 million (US $31.5 million) in the partnership.
