Teacher Resource Guides on Renewable Energy now Available

[RenewableEnergyAccess.com] The State Energy Conservation Office (SECO) and the Texas Solar Energy Society (TXSES) announced the availability of free educational materials for Texas teachers. These complete resources provide teachers in grades 4 – 12 with all they need to cover renewable energy, energy efficiency and conservation in their classrooms. This series of books provides grade-specific activities, all correlated to the required Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS). Teachers asked for resources that gave them more content mastery on a subject few studied in school, that addressed the legally required TEKS, and that provided their students with grade level reading materials to introduce energy. The Infinite Power of Texas Teacher Resource Guides successfully meet all these requirements. Each Unit of Study includes a teacher introduction, a Reading Passage for the students with comprehension questions, several hands-on lab activities with through instructions for students and assessment tools. The materials are available in a separately bound book for each level as well as on a CD that contains all three books, the Infinite Power video narrated by Dan Rather and a PowerPoint presentation containing current information on renewable energy. Teachers can receive hard copy in the mail by contacting SECO at 800-531-5441 extension 3-1796, or they can download the materials from the following link.
