Summit Endorses Hydro for Uganda

September 18, 2002 [SolarAccess.com] The recently concluded World Summit on Sustainable Development, has accepted hydropower as an alternative source of energy following a strong presentation by Uganda on the importance of that energy source. A Ugandan official said Renewable Energy resources like solar and wind were associated with high up-front costs and limited industrial application in facilitating income generating activities in the rural areas.
