Submarine to be Powered by Hydrogen Fuel Cell

October 14, 2002 [] Air Products, an industrial gases company, will install the first complete hydrogen infrastructure in the world into a new non-nuclear hydrogen-driven submarine. The submarine is of class 212, which is driven by hydrogen fuel cells dependent on the outer air. It can stay under water for weeks, without noise or waste gases.
