Southern States Power to Fund Bioenergy Facility

Construction of a 30 million gallon-per-year biodiesel production facility in Riverside, California will proceed thanks to a commitment for the projects’s first round of funding. Southern States Power Co. and Agua Mansa Bioenergy L.L.C., are partnering on the project.

Riverside, California – September 16, 2002 [] The project will be developed by The EXL Group, L.L.C. and financed by Impact Capital Management, L.L.P. through a minimum of US$3 million in capital and project management experience to Agua Mansa. “Bringing in entities with the resources and experience of The EXL Group and Impact Capital Management is a critical component in the development of the Agua Mansa, L.L.C., and we are ecstatic that EXL has committed to provide funding and their project management expertise for the new facility,” said Harrison A. McCoy, III president and chief executive officer of SSPC. “Additional partners who will participate in the funding and development of our Riverside facility will be announced as they invest as members of the Agua Mansa.”
