Shaw to Build Plants in Indonesia and Korea

Baton Rouge, Louisiana [RenewableEnergyAccess.com] The Shaw Group announced that an Indonesian subsidiary of its Shaw Stone & Webster unit has been awarded an engineering, procurement and construction contract for a new 60-megawatt geothermal power plant by PT Pertamina. The plant, to be located in Kamojang, Java, Indonesia, is said to be the first Pertamina independent power project to sell electricity to Indonesia’s national electric power utility, PLN. The work is scheduled to be completed in 2008. Shaw also announced a second contract from SK Corporation for a Fluid Catalytic Cracking Unit in Ulsan, Korea (60,000 barrels per stream per day), calling for Shaw to integrate 14 process units, define the utility and offsite requirements and assist in management.
