Schwarzenegger to Reorganize Energy Agencies

Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger is proposing a reorganization of some of the state’s energy agencies that would create a Cabinet-level secretary of energy and give the governor’s office more control over the state’s critical electricity and natural gas policies, according to the San Fran Chronicle. Schwarzenegger, in a move his aides said Monday is designed to consolidate the energy bureaucracy, will propose a new Department of Energy this week that would have many of the same powers that the state’s Energy Commission currently has.
