RFP for Renewable Sources of Energy

Bismarck, North Dakota [RenewableEnergyAccess.com] Basin Electric Power Cooperative has issued a Request for Proposal (RFP) for additional supplies of electricity from base-load, intermediate, peaking and renewable resources on a short-term and long-term basis. In the short-term base-load, the coop seeks intermediate and peaking capacity from 2008 to 2011 in the Western Interconnection up to approximately 400 megawatts (MW). In the Eastern Interconnection, Basin Electric is seeking up to 400 MW in the winter season and 700 MW in the summer season of base-load, intermediate, and peaking capacity from 2008 through 2013. Longer-term proposals for base-load, intermediate and peaking capacity for a period of at least 15 years starting in the summer of 2013 are also being sought for both the eastern and western systems. Complete proposals, including all exhibits, must be received on or before April 20, 2007.
