Renewable Energy Lands Biomass Export Deal

[] Green Energy Resources completed what it says is renewable energy’s largest biomass export deal to date. The sale to an undisclosed UK utility company takes effect in 2006 with escalating volumes that rise after a new power plant is completed in 2009. Details of the 12-year contract include exports up to 5.5 million tons of wood biomass, annual RPI (UK index) cost increases, currency logistics based on the pound (not the US dollar), and port deliveries up to 90,000 metric tons.
