Renewable Energy Action in Northern Ireland

August 8, 2003[] A new partnership has formed between the Department of Enterprise, Trade and Investment, of Ireland, and the Viridian Group to encourage the development of renewable energy in Northern Ireland. Action Renewables, a new task force created by the Viridian Group, of Ireland, will spearhead a drive to encourage the development of small-scale generation of renewable energy projects and provide clear, objective information about renewable energy opportunities in Northern Ireland. The campaign will focus to facilitate the provision of a new advice service for householders and communities, the introduction of an education program for schools, as well as tackling the harder issues such as identifying the opportunities geographically and exploring new technologies such as marine turbines.
