Houston, Texas [RenewableEnergyAccess.com] Praj Industries Limited, a bioethanol technology firm based in Pune, India, and Aker Kvaerner of Norway will cooperate on bioethanol projects in Europe. Praj will supply the process license, process engineering and proprietary equipment for a process plant, while Aker Kvaerner’s European Process business will provide engineering, procurement and construction. Praj has plans to set up an operating base in the EU to augment its marketing efforts. Aker Kvaerner, which has annual revenues of approximately NOK 41.5 billion [~US$6 billion] and employs 20,000 people in more than 30 countries, also said that it plans to supply a continuous cooking plant to an Indonesian pulp and paper mill using acacia as raw material, to increase its production by 1,650 tons per day. Kvaerner Pulping AB, part of the Aker Kvaerner group, was to provide engineering, procurement and supervision services for the scheduled start-up in Q2 2007.
