People of M’rashtra Switch to Renewable Energy

Pune, India [] Suffering from unending power cut hours, many people from the state … [are] … switching over to renewable energy sources through opting wind mill and solar heating plants. However their efforts are like a drop in the desert of power crunch which Maharashtra is currently facing. As per the figures made available from Maharashtra Energy Development Agency (MEDA), a state government agency meant for the development of renewable energy, the state currently produces total of around 1650 MW of power using non-conventional ways. However the current production is only 0.7 percent of the total power consumption in the state.
