Partnership for Remote Solar Water-Pumping Needs

WorldWater & Power Corporation, a maker of high-horsepower solar energy systems, has established an alliance with Kirloskar Brothers, an Indian pump manufacturer, to develop water management systems to provide improved water and power supplies for rural and urban poor around the world. Under the five-year pact, WorldWater and Kirloskar will develop projects that combine WorldWater’s solar power technology with Kirloskar’s broad range of pump and motor products. The partnership aims to help both companies meet their common objectives of bringing sustainable agricultural development and improvement of living and working conditions for rural and urban poor. In particular, their arrangement outlines how the companies will work to use solar power to bring clean water, irrigation and dependable power supplies to people in developing and war-torn nations, where public infrastructure is inadequate or damaged. Iraq and Afghanistan are among the many developing countries where Kirloskar has implemented sales of its products.
